Paranoia and tin foil hat conspiracy theories

The law relating to militias is quite clear in the US. There are two elements. Organized, which comprises the National Guard and the various state defense forces and the unorganized, which the Federal government defines as most males between 17 and 45. Many states have somewhat different standards. The 2nd Amendment makes it clear that the people have the right to keep and bear arms so that the militia can exist. The organized militia is this era is mainly armed by the federal government. Thus it is the unorganized militia that is effectively addressed by the 2nd Amendment
As I see it, there is a great misconception abroad..Many seem to believe that the 2nd Amendment stipulates a right, under federal law, to organize local and state level militias without the consenting acknowledgment of the state governors. Nothing in the constitution grants that right. Indeed, in some states such activity is expressly illegal. The 10th Amendment reserves such rights to the states and then the people. Thus the states have legislative authority when it comes to the legal status of the militia.
There are a bunch of conspiracy theorist types who feel that they have a need to organize para-military forces to defend the constitution from the federal government In theory it could come to that but as it stands, the law prohibits such behavior. On the other hand, I feel it is incumbent upon people to be armed, to train in the effective use of their arms at the personal, family and possibly neighborhood level. NOT, to overthrow the government, but to defend the government, particularly at the local level, in the event of domestic insurrection, foreign invasion or the consequences of natural disasters. The actions of local police and federalized National Guard troops in New Orleans several years ago were grossly negligent and a violation of the US Constitution. Citizens do have a right, and an obligation, to defend themselves and their communities from criminals.
I note a trend in conspiracy theory propaganda. Much emphasis is being place on the notion that the government planned and carried out 9/11. I find the notion of such a huge and complex conspiracy to be ludicrous. Keeping such a thing functionally intact, much less secret is simply beyond the capability of any government. There are plenty of oath keepers working in government who would quickly AND effectively blow the whistle on such a plot. My take is that these propagandists are trying to divert the attention of patriots from the real threats to our nation. To wit, foreign terrorists, illegal, and in some cases legal, immigrants from Latin America who engage in organized crime to fund terrorist activities and sabotage in the interests of foreign enemies. Many of these gangsters have received military training from the governments of Cuba and Venezuela. They number in the hundreds of thousands. It is interesting to hear the complaints of dictator Chavez about the presence of American military on islands off the coast on Venezuela. In contrast to the apparently very effective government efforts to foil Islamist terrorism in the US, these Latin gangs are running amok. Further, there are clear political and economic links between the governments of Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela and Ecuador with Islamist terror organizations and the governments, such as Iran, that support these Islamist terror organizations. It seems the our government has miserably failed in this respect.
That such efforts, of a blatant and overtly hostile character, are taking place in the US, suggests that there are long term hostile actions in the making aimed at the destruction of our nation and our constitution. I can see how this could be interpreted as preparations for an invasion. History is replete with such events.
Admiral Yamamoto of the Imperial Japanese Navy is reputed to have commented that a Japanese invasion of the US west coast would not work, not because the US military would have been capable of stopping such an invasion, but rather, that maintaining an occupation would be to costly as "there will be a rifle behind every blade of grass". Heads up people.
